| My Clipper Vac® just suddenly shut off/stopped running. Why? |
All of our motors are equipped with thermal protection. The thermal sensor will shut off power to the motor in the event the motor is overheated. Operators should, as always, avoid situations that can cause overheating such as over filling their unit with hair or operating their unit with an obstructed hose. In the event such a problem goes unchecked the thermal protection will be there to help protect the motor. Empty the unit or clear the obstruction, wait a few minutes then restart your Clipper Vac®.
If your unit does not need emptying and there are no hose obstructions present, check the motor brushes. If the carbon of the brushes are worn down enough they will not make contact with the armature of your motor and it will shut off. Steps on how to replace Clipper Vac® motor brushes can be found here.
If it is not the brushes, you may need to replace your motor Instructions for motor replacement can be found here. If you are still uncertain as to what is going on you can always call us: 724-463-6101 |
