How often should I change the motor brushes and filter in my Clipper Vac®?
Change your brushes every year and a half to two years to avoid having an out-of-service Clipper Vac®. Keeping a set of brushes on hand for these situations will avoid costly over-night shipping charges. Changing your filter once a year will help extend the life of your motor. Instructions are available here on our website or you are welcome to call us (724-463-6101).

My Clipper Vac® just suddenly shut off/stopped running. Why?

All of our motors are equipped with thermal protection. The thermal sensor will shut off power to the motor in the event the motor is overheated. Operators should, as always, avoid situations that can cause overheating such as over filling their unit with hair or operating their unit with an obstructed hose. In the event such a problem goes unchecked the thermal protection will be there to help protect the motor. Empty the unit or clear the obstruction, wait a few minutes then restart your Clipper Vac®.

If your unit does not need emptying and there are no hose obstructions present, check the motor brushes. If the carbon of the brushes are worn down enough they will not make contact with the armature of your motor and it will shut off. Steps on how to replace Clipper Vac® motor brushes can be found here.

If it is not the brushes, you may need to replace your motor Instructions for motor replacement can be found here. If you are still uncertain as to what is going on you can always call us: 724-463-6101

Can I clean the inside of my Clipper Vac® hose?
You not shouldn't try to clean your hose. Moisture can remain or gather in the crevices of the hose and potentially get sucked into your unit's motor, thus destroying it.
